please has anyone got suggestions for sealing the joint between a kitchen work surface and the wall , silicone never is entirely successful .
some form of a dry mechanical joint piece would seem better but I have not seen one yet , any ideas ? Regards Norman,

Why is silicone not successful? Works for me.

As rosebery has suggested silicone is the standard sealant for this area, you don’t say what the problem with silicone is , does it come away from the wall, as silicone does not like bare plaster and can not be painted over you could always remove the bead of silicone and apply a thinned coat of PVA adhesive around the wall where it meets the work top and re-seal. Another solution is to use some solvent based liquid nails as a bead again this does not like bare plaster so pva the wall section and tape the work top up with masking tape. Use your finger and a little white spirit to smooth it into the corner. When its dry you can paint this with water based paint first and or oil over the top.
