Can anyone please confirm or deny the need to earth bond all pipe work surrounding a gas central heating boiler. I have been told that the cross bonding of all three incoming services is sufficient and that all electrical components in the boiler are individually earthed, :?:
Help please as I am not convinced by this statement.

Your incoming gas and water supply should be bonded to the MET at the Consumer unit.
There is a metal plate that links all pipework (incoming and outs) on the underside of most boilers.
So this should cause continuity as far as your main earth bonding is concerned.

I always earth all pipes.

as KB says there is no requirements under electrical regs. but Corgi/gasafe may insist on it for their installers, in a similar way that NICEIC want fly/pigtail earths in back boxes, also not a requirement of regs. if wiring with a CPC.

[If a qualified electrician, rather than a plumber wishes to argue then please quote relevent reg. #]
