I'm installing a mira thermostatic power shower. This needs a supply only for the internal pump. It does not heat water.
I have fitted a FCU with built in RCD, in the airing cupboard, taking its supply from the socket circuit. I have used 1mm twin core and earth.
From the FCU the cable goes to a 40 amp pull switch with neon indicator and from there to the shower.
The main consumer unit has a built in rccd for the socket circuit.
The instruction manual states that...
230–240 V, 50 Hz, fused at 3 Amps, via a double
pole switched fused connection unit (not supplied) with a minimum 3mm
contact separation in each pole.
A 30 mA residual current device (RCD) must be fitted. This may be part of the consumer unit or a separate unit.
Before I switch it on, can you tell me if my setup sounds about right???
Any advice is much appreciated - thanks in anticipation
Andy
