I have to change a radiator to a towel rail and the the problem is that the boiler is a Combi boiler - How do I remove the radiator?

Turn off the water at the mains stopcock.

Drain down the system.

Change the rad for the towel rail.

Repressurise the system.

Cheers

PS Not a tiling question and you'll find this one has been answered relatively recently in the plumbing section.

rosebery - is it strictly necessary to shut of the water main? if the boiler has a filling loop there shouldn't be any immediate danger of accidental filling.

Chris

How else do you completely take the pressure off the system? I grant you that it shouldn't be necessary except if you are working on the DHW but it's probably not a bad practice for someone who only does a bit of plumbing work now and again on a DIY basis.

Cheers
