want to put an ensuite in my attic bedroom this is not a conversion i have a large attic room with sloping roof are there any regs to size and height the ensuite would be by the sloping ceiling

i have a damp patch in my bathroom wich gets worse in rain i have had a roofer who says my slates are fine the outide wall does need repointing but is it possible for rain to travel through one wall get through to my cavity and hit the other causing damp or should i start with my roof and guttering ...

i have used sika render before and if applied properly will hold back any amount of water should have been done in three coats the first being like a slurry mix and once fully rendered as long as nothing as broken the barrier ie nails or screws it should hold water back for a lieftime you do get a b...

just done my cellar floor lifted slabs up to find a french drain in bad repair
could be were your musty smell comes from concreted mine now smells good if you have earth retaining walls i would use more than a paint. seeker render or that bubble membrane stuff

thanks for your help pipe is now fully covered with pea shingle and sand on top of that got to go with the concrete though not very good at flag laying thanks once again

thanks these pipes are only in sections so when heavy rain occurs cellar water spreads around pea shingle but never came above flags i have replaced sections with a long plastic pipe with holes in as the others were full of mud and clay as advised by a friend (not too sure of his reliability) i dont...

i put pva on a couple of times before plastering left it till it went dusty pink and painted in matt emulsion i did use board finish instead of multi could that be the problem

cellar floor drainage

i have just recently lifted some flags in my cellar to find broken sections of pipe leading water to outside i have been told this is just ground water i am hoping to concrete floor is this true and as long as i dont block it can i concrete have covered with pea shingle at moment as advised

Hairline Cracks on Wall After using PVA before Plastering and Painting

recently plastered an old victorian house looked great but after a few months of painting i now have hairline cracks in it can anyone tell me why this occured
