Which is Cheaper - Gas or Electric Hob in new Kitchen?

Planning for a new kitchen in a new extension. Don't know whether to choose an electric hob or a gas hob. Any advice on which is cheaper to run is appreciated.
Thank you.

Lennox Warm Air Gas Heating Servicing

We have a Lennox Warm Air central heating system (Furnace) - no radiators - which has worked efficiently and is still working great but the local Gas Safe people keep telling me they are not familiar with the system and won't service it. It is the simplest of systems to check out and so reliable and...
yes I would extend the pipes into the pit, otherwise its not working properly
I have a somewhat similar problem with one on the downpipes. The rainwater from my roof goes into a soakaway. At one corner of the bungalow where the downpipe takes the water away t...

Claiming For Damage to Property by an Insured Driver

We have had some damage to our boundary wall and front garden caused by a van driver who skidded on black and lost control of the vehicle. The driver's insurance should be responsible for the repairs and we thought we could claim against the driver's insurance. Our Home Insurance provider tells us t...

Combi Boilers
Vaillant are very good - so if the BG boiler is more expensive then it's definitely not worth it, neither is BG installation prices or their Homecare packages. Vaillant and Worcester are very good. I'd go for the Vaillant. htg
Could anyone tell me what installa...

Re: Hot Water only working when Heating on?

Not sure I am doing this correctly but I have a similar problem with my BAXI Combi Instant 105HE system. When I turn the hot water on the water heats up for 30 seconds or so then it goes cools again. Same when I am in the shower but it seems to heat up then go cold and then heat up again. Any sugges...

Removing A Tall (Larder Type) Kitchen Unit

I would like to dismantle/remove a Tall kitchen unit which is attached to a base unit, counter top and a wall unit but I can't see how they are locked together. Want to replace it with a refrigerator. Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

No Hot Water to my bathroom

I just changed a tap on the basin in the shower room. Before starting I turned off the mains water and the star valve which allows hot water - fed from the tank in the loft - to the bath, shower and basins. I noticed that the bath tap continued to drain while I was working on the basin tap. When I t...

Electric Underfloor Heatingn or Water Pipe Underfloor Heatin

Hi all you good people out there: My daughter is planning an extension to enlarge the kitchen in a mid 1930s house. Which type of underfloor heating would be the most efficient?
Many thanks.

Damp Course Re-Pointing

Some of the pointing just below the damp course on my bungalow is crumbling away in a small number of places. A neighbour has told me that I should use PVC or PCV product in the mix so that it adheres better to the plastic in the damp course. Anyone know what he means.
Thank you.
