Leaking Blanking Plug

Having just installed a new WC I have found the only place I have aleak is the blanking plug in the cistern. It is a B&Q job and the plug doesn't seem big enoughfor the hole, I'm not sure whether I am over-tightening the nut and therefore squashing the washer but on the underside I can see there...

Sealing after Grouting

We have just finsihed putting Travertine tiles down and have applied a coat of sealant before grouting. After grouting how long should we leave the grout before applying the final layers of sealant, I have read stuff saying to leave it 10 days.

Unlevel Shower Tray

I am installing a non-easy plumb screwfix shower tray onto newly laid 18mm chipboard. There is about a 15mm drop between back to front and was wondering what the best way to level it off would be. I was thinking of packing the lower end but also putting down a layer of cement/sand to strengthen it o...

Triton Thames Mixer to Bulkhead connection

I am currently installing a Triton Thames concealed shower and was wondering what the best connector to use is for connecting the male-thread connector (not supplied) to the bulkhead. I am using pushfit fittings and because the elbows are so deep it means the mixer outlet and the bulhead connection ...

Bright Bathroom Light?

I had an electrician around at the weekend to fit a new consumer unit and bring our bathroom within Part-P regulations. As we have a shower cubicle and the light is in Zone 2 we have to have a sealed unit which he supplied and looked like it should be in a public lavatory. I sourced another from Scr...

Central Heating - change of pipe diameter

Currently in my bathroom the central heating pipes (22mm) run underneath the bath but stick out into the room above the floorboards where I intend to put up a stud wall. The pipes stick out far more than required and want to move them. I am hoping to use pushfit fittings and speedfit flexible piping...

Thanks for the advice Sparx. The undertile heating needs to be connected to a 30mA RCD which I'm pretty sure the existing one is. There is nothing stopping me installing the consumer units and then getting a qualified person to connect it all is there? Would it possibly mean having a new consumer un...

RCD Spurring

Hi, I am currently refitting a bathroom which has an existing electric shower connected to a dedicated RCD. The shower is going but I am looking to fit undertile heating, an electrical element for a towel heater and also a new extractor fan/light. I was hoping to use the RCD for the undertile heatin...
