ripply plaster on ceiling

Hi, I have overboarded my ceiling and skimmed with plaster; but it has dried ripply and uneven. I have emulsioned it and it still shows. I want to use a textured emulsion as I cannot face anyfurther plastering - it's a big room. Which type of product should I use? thanks in anticipation.

TOILET CISTERN

Hi. could expanding foam be used to line my toilet cistern in an attempt to stop condensation? I'm not sure if it is waterproof. I realize that I will need to restrict its expansion, but is it waterproof?

zone 1 fan

Hi. I am experiencing excessive condensation on the toilet cistern, it is a small bathroom and I am going to line the cistern; but I am wondering if there is an extractor fan that I can set in the ceiling in zone 1 - I believe that is the right name. Anyway it's above the bath! thanks.

sealant for yoga mat

Hi.  Thrilled to find your solution for condensation on my toilet cistern; you mention the sealant below - but I can't find any mention of it after that. I have obviously got selective blindness; so can you specify which sealant for me and should I coat the complete mat with it or just the join line...

Which saw should I use

Hi, I am cutting the bottom off a pine exterior door and after reading your cutting timber project I am about to buy a new saw; but on looking I am confused about all the different types of saw are available. What do they do and which should I buy?

using a router

Hi, I'm new to woodwork and would like to round the corners off my breakfast bar which is a normal laminated worktop. I have been advised to use a router but I have no clue how to use one. Please talk to me as though I am a child because I will need that understanding. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi KB, Thanks for the reply.  I am plastering over an old ceiling that has been painted with a stipple effect platicky  type paint.  There are several long cracks along the beam lines and that is where I have tried to put the tape.  Any other suggestions or advice would be helpful.

skrim tape& pva

Hi, I think I gave the wrong title to my last question, I would like to know if I need to PVA before, after, or not at all when using self adhesive skrim.  Mine keeps moving when I apply the plaster. Or am I just not applying enough pressure when sticking the tape to the ceiling.

plaster & dry lining

Hi, I would like to overboard my ceiling, if I use tapered boards and fill the joints successfully can I just emulsion the lot or do I have to skim it with plaster first?  I have several to do so it would be helpful if I could eliminate the plaster.
