Re: Door handle replacement and can't get old handle off

Have a check all around each handle for any tiny grub screws. There will be a tiny hole possibly that you need to undo using a suitably sized Allen key, that's normally how such ahndles are secured

Re: Log Storage Build Help Needed

Hi There are many different ways to build a log store using many different techniques. One easy straight forward method is to use the Simpsons Strongtie work bench kit as it includes all the brackets and all you need to add is the timber. Re: Search for hinges and help needed to identify what I need

Hi

Apologies, this should have been stated in the project. Traditionally it's known as a wrap around, offset and cabinet hinge but more recently it's now referred to as a cranked hinge

Re: Weird Problem With Draining Basin

Hi It sounds like the basin is connected to the bath or shower before the trap. So when the water runs out of the basin it then sits in the pipe, slowly pushing the bath water out of its trap until its all gone. Remember the bath or shower waste will always have water in it so will slow down any wat...

Re: Painting over new(ISH) plaster repair

Hi

Did you apply a mist coat to the plaster first? If not then this is probably why the paint is cracking and flaking off.

We have a full project on painting new plaster here for more details: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/p ... laster.htm

Hope this helps

Re: TV mounting on plasterboard stud and brick

Hi Ah yes good point, unfortunately not in this case then as the gap between the brick and plasterboard face will be too large. In this instance you will be best of using some 10mm threaded bar and resin fixing (similar to this one: m). Drill out hole through plasterboard and in to brick, pump in so...

Re: Fitting a 25kg bathroom cabinet to plasterboard wall

Hi The very best and most secure fixing will be to fix to the existing studs behind the wall. Do you know if it is indeed a stud wall or could the plasterboard have been dot and dab fixed to a more secure brick or block wall behind? If so then Corefix fixings are teh way to go: m If you are indeed d...
