I had this once when the inlet pipe was gravity fed (not mains) and there was a flow reducing fitting inside the float valve, thus not enough pressure to fill the cistern very quickly. I removed the flow reducer and it worked ok.

Would you remove the skirting boards before relaying the new floor? And should i glue and screw the boards?

Replacing blown chipboard flooring in flat!!!!

My mates washing machine has been dripping for 2 years causing the chipboard floor to expand throughout kitchen / living room. The whole floor needs replacing. I can take the kitchen out no problems and refit easy enough. Any tips for the easiest removal of the old chipboard - can i use my reciproca...

I would suggest the above too, the valve might just need adjusting - hence letting the water level get as high as the overflow.

When you say small water tank do you mean the f and e tank? The smaller of the two in the roof?? And is the water coming out of the overflow pipe outside?
