Depends on the model. And I'll be honest, if your main gas shut-off is that difficult to reach, you should create better access!! What on earth would you do if you had a leak??

Get a corgi man out - you might have a serious problem. Noises like that can be down to undersized gas supplies and any other number of potentially serious problems, so get it seen to.

Always go for a condensing boiler if you can - they'll save more in the long run. Can't give you any idea of running costs as you don't state house size/type/build etc. If you want to save money in the long run, had you considered a ground source heat pump? Runs at roughly 400% efficency, whereas th...

Chances are either the filling loop is passing or the expansion vessel has gone. Is there any water coming from the pressure relief (overflow) pipe outside?

How close is the boiler to the dishwasher? Water from the dishwasher could quite easily be backing up to the boiler if it's close. If that's the case, get a CORGI fitter in as it may have damaged the boiler. If the boiler isn't close to the dishwasher, then the chances are it's a fairly simple washe...

What type of system do you have - does your pump come on for heating and water or just heating? Can probably direct you to the fault easily enough but would need more info!!

What boiler is it - sounds like the expansion vessel (big red thing) is now undersized due to extra water. If it's part of the boiler, you may need to fit an external, additional one.

The other possibility is a badly designed system drawing air in or muck in the system (sludge in a system actually causes hydrogen production). If you've got an open-vented CH system, there'll be a little header tank (most likely in the loft) feeding the system. Isolate the water supply to this tank...

Just wondering how high you top the pressure up to - there's a pressure relief valve in the boiler set to 3bar. If you top up to 2bar or above when cold, the heat wil cause the pressure to rise and you'll lose it all to the pressure relief valve (dumps outside). Check that before you start paying pl...

most Keston boilers have a pressure switch that senses the system pressure and will prevent the boiler from firing. The pump, however will run on. If the switch has muck on it, it can intermittently fire up when it feels like it. Kestons are funny beasts and like developing dodgy faults that seem to...

chances are the valve body is blocked (probably by it's own internals) and it's need changing. Doubt you'll be able to free it up by removing the head if it point blank refuses to go past a certain point.

Nothing says you can't get a combi that does more than one tap/draw-off at the same time! Worcester do a Highflow Greenstar that may cost a bit more and be bigger (floorstanding) but bear in mind the rest of the system (ie. hot water cylinder, pump, control valves, header tanks) are unecessary so yo...
