So 11 days on, 83 viewings and no comments.

Does this mean I am doomed to screwing rigid these damned sliding locks?

All comments appreciated, thanks.

Hinge locks inoperable?

I have bought a house with 2XG windows that have side hinges near the top, and the bottom of the sash pushes out. A stupid design when all the weight is carried by the friction screws which eventually fail. Anyway, originally these hinges had a semi-circular section stainless fillet sliding within t...

Locking double slider pvc patio doors

I have looked in the archive and can't this problem covered. I have bought a new flat with double slider doors but the espagnolette locks do not themselves lock with a key. So how can I secure these doors from inside please? I appreciate that I can use the old broom handle in the track trick for the...

Thanks PB. Apologies for delayed reply but I have to work outside the country on short notice at times. The pump will certainly be below the tanks even if I have to revert to mounting it in the airing cupboard - which I want to avoid. I fit marine pumps in my other life so am used to their requireme...

It has 28mm pipe all round and one radiator about 25ft from the boiler 'uphill' with a vent at the top end of the rad to an expansi...

Thanks gents. Perhaps I should have said that the cold supply is not from the rising main but from the header tank. Sorry. The wall is in a 1980 house so is the usual plasterboard on wooden studs. The back face of the wall is onto the landing so plenty of access all round. As I am installing new bat...

Shower pump under the bath and a rigid riser to the head

I want to install a new bath with shower mixer supplied by a twin impeller pump located underneath. This to replace a wall mounted power shower fed down from the ceiling. The existing shower is not fed from a Surrey flange, so would the new pump need one? - so far there is no noise/bubbling/splutter...
