Thanks for this, have replaced fitting, and it is on a dimmer switch..how do I go about replacing this?

Assuming the fault was in the old fitting, I should have now solved the issue, so now I can replace the switch, is it literally a case of replacing the entire switch..?

Thanks in advance

Dead Lighting - Help required please

Hi Tried to change a bulb in my living room light fitting, which promptly blew out when I turned the switch on. Have replaced the bulbs again, checking I hadn't exceeded the voltage etc and now nothing happens.....little confusing as all other downstairs lights still work. I've now taken the fitting...

Outside Light with plug

I've got a security light in the back garden, and it's just on a plug that comes through the wall

Is there a simple way to put this on a switch inside the house?

Thanks

Broken Rad

I've damaged my inlet pipe to living room rad, the elbow joint is leaking

How can I stop the leak, until either myself or the local plumber fixes the leak, and will it require a new joint or is fixable?

Thanks

Ok, it's the only socket in the hall, isn't a DIY job as far as can reasonably certain, so it SHOULD be on the main ring as part of the original wiring. Not unreasonable to assume.....(?)! Take your point re limitations, but I feel comfortable enough having a look at the back plate and going from th...

the word probably worries me...! This is my preferred option, and I was going to conduit it yeah so I wouldn't encounter that problem. Thanks for the heads up mind Should it be a spur, what would be my options? Can you still spur off a pur, reading into it......? Or have I read that wrong? Would I t...
