Fitting Keyless Lock and Question About Drilling Holes

Hi, In the instructions for this keyless lock (it's a push button) they say to drill 4 x 10mm holes horizontally then make it into a slot. What is this slot for? There is nothing to go into it as both sides of the lock are flat!
Advise please?

Re: Best Product for Lubricating Locks on uPVC Doors

use Graphite grease (its a powder). Use WD-40 or Vasaline they will work but they attract dirt and you will then get more problems with stiff or sticking locks!

Ceiling damage?

I have had a serious leak from my water tank in the attic. The water leaked into the bedroom ceiling and living room ceiling down stairs. Can someone tell me if the plaster board ceiling need replacing even though they are now dry? I have been told that their itegrity is now compromised?

Exterior floor tile paint

Hi
I would like to paint my front door outside porch floor tiles terracotta red. In the past I just used floor paint but this just bubbles and lifts off after a month. Is there primer or proper paint for this job, and if so where can I get it and what is its name?
kind regards
