In my opinion, no. Never heard of PVA added like that before. Personally id be concerned if PVA was applied to newly plastered walls. Best to start with a mist coat then a very light sand then a second mist coat.

the internal overflow is kinda built in and difficult to explain on a forum. If you dont have a exit hole for an external overflow and its a modern toilet then i think its safe to assume its built in. Any overflowing water basically goes through the same hole into the pan as it would when flushed. H...

the chipping is caused when they have been cut to size. What did your builder use to cut the tiles? is he used an electric tile cutter? the chips can be avoided in most cases by cutting the tile face down....if i tile is cut face up the chips do happen. If the chips are only minor ones then these ca...

I personally stay clean of the flexy waste pipes as over time they can collect muck inside and block up, which is the last thing you want on your shower tray which will have limited acess after installation. If you want to connect 32mil pipe to 40 mil pipe then you can buy reducers from any DIY shed...

Usually the ceilings crack due to movement from above or movement of the house joists etc. Try adding a few extra dry wall screws along the joints in the plasterboard and across the main panels being sure you hit a joist and not pipes or electrics to help secure it and keep it in position then re-fi...

IMO definaley tile first and skirting last. It will hide any rough tile edges which hit the wall and give a much neater overall finish. Thanks.

Always get 3 different quotes for any job and choose who you feel most confident dealing with and who offer what you consider to be a fair price and have the confidence who will do a good job. Best to keep your budget of 2k under your hat until you get a quote first. Boxing in of pipes I would think...

Hi Nigel, its fine to tile directly onto plasterboard. The use of a diluted pva first is to stop the plasterboard drawing all the moisture out of the tile adhesive. It can just be painted on the walls your tiling. Id suggest you do this for the sake of a little time and effort, you don't want odd ti...

Try putting a smaller wall plug inside the exsiting one in the wall then re screw it, as a quick fix. Also try filling the hole slightly with some ready mixed filler, leave it for 2o mins or so then try re fixing the curtain rail up. Or even try a slightly bigger screw. All these are quick fixes. Be...
