Cooker hood - Recirculation v Ducted

Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me please whether it's better to use charcoal recirculation filters or duct the waste out to atmosphere when using a cooker hood. The hood is quite a distance from the outside wall and the ducting would look a little unsightly. Any help would be appreciated Thanks in adv...

New gas hob and oven, easy to install?

Hi everyone, I'm revamping my kitchen at the minute with a new gas hob and fan assisted oven can anyone tell me how easy or difficult they would be to install. I am going to have to move the gas pipes though to a new position. Also, might be a bit of a stupid question but does a fan assisted oven ne...

There are some salty deposits left on the wall, not all places but some. Have also found similar damp problems on ajoining walls to neighbours (terrace house) and ajoining walls to my kitchen extension.

Damp plaster problems

Hi everyone, I recently removed old wallpaper to find that the plaster was damp, however after around a week the plaster has dried out. Marble effect painting

Hello all,

On a recent visit to Florence the hotel room I stayed in had a 'marble effect' paint scheme. Can this effect be achieved by a DIYist? Is it a difficult technique?

Any help anyone could give would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Does slate need to be waterproofed?

Hello everyone, This is probably a very silly question but I'm going to ask it anyway. I am going to lay slate tiles as flooring onto my bathroom, apart from the adhesive/grout that needs to be waterproof do I need to waterproof the slate and if so what? Like I said I know this may sound daft but ju...

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is in the right forum but here goes.

Any help would be appreciated
