Levelling Area Using Hardcore Base for Large Patio?

We want to lay quite a big patio...32' x 8' approx. There is a drop of about 12"...can we use a hard core base of that depth to level the area.?
Is it ok to lay on bed of sand or would you advise motar?
Any other tips or suggestions would be welcome?

Yes its a plastered wall, the cause almost certainly is the age-old problem of being a north facing wall in a cold room, the wall also being the furthest away and its mildew mostly not actual damp..(clothes also mildew).do i need to put anything behind the battens and would they be half inch battens...

Foil backed plaster board for mould mildew

We have bad mould mildew problem caused by north wall and very cold room, it has been suggested that a foil backed plasterboards will eleimintae the problem...can anyone confirm this

Vapour barrier plasterboard to eliminate mould

We have bad molud problem probably caused through being north wall and cold room, It has been suggested by fixing foil backed palsterbosrd will solve the problem. is the boards appixed by adesive or to battens?

no hot water

unfortunately it is also the cold water..all this in the bathroom..hoped to find a stop-cock or compression fitment to release any air but no luck..is their any other way to clean the airlock

apparently their is also no cold water, nor is the toilet cistern filling..all this is in the bathroom, i assume all are fed from same supply and had hoped to find somewhere in supply shut-off valve or at least a compression joint i could have loosened, but without luck...is their anyother way to fo...

we are unable to get water from the hot water taps.barely a trickle.all rooms affected..cold taps ok...have checked header tank, that is filling ok,.

Old Wiring

We have the old wiring throuhout (red/black/earth un-sheathed)....having removed old wall lights, the replacement new ones must be earthed....but from the wall only red and black are available....no earth....can we still use the new units?

old wiring

We have old wiring Red/black and unshaethed earth....having removed old wall lights we went to install new ones but these must be earthed...BUT the old wiring only has red and black! what can we do?
