I currently have mr16 halogen lamps and bulbs in the kitchen and gu10's in the bathroom.

Can I just replace the bulbs for led version?

not sure if the holders or wiring need to be changed.

12v transformer loading

I recently had a 12v transformer die due to hungry mices -
mices have now left the building and I want to replace the transformer but
I see it has 3 x spot lights running from it. Is this correct or should I have
a transformer for each spot light?

replacing consumer unit

I know its not quite diy but how much would I look to spend on a qualified person replacing
my current unit?
The current one is fuse wire plug in modules, I have replaced some with mini pcb's but
have had problems sourcing some of them.

fitting heavy wood gates to brick pillar?

Hello all, I would like to fit wooden driveway gates to a widened driveway. The old brick pillars will be taken down but need to know how to strengthen as one of the gates is approx 10' long, a field type wooden gate that weighs probably too much. The original pillar is approx 12-14" square. An...

granite or slate as lintel above a wood burner?

I am about to get my builder to install a wood burner and need to know if granite or slate would be suitable as a lintel above?

would they take the heat o?, would they splinter etc, and what are they like for heat transfer?

Cheers

hot water but no heating

The boiler is a worcester heatslave 12/14, hot water is fine just no heating - I think it may be the diverter valve? there is a sliding knob on the side of the diverter which doesn't seem to want to move, would this indicate the valve is broken? if so what sort of cost am I looking at for a replacem...

re-pressurising sealed system? help please

Hi all, I have a Worcester heatslave 12/14, a sealed system with a pressure gauge behind the front panel. We have lost all hot water and have no heating :( . The pressure valve indicator is well below the preset pointer (not even reaching 0.5 bar) and starts to squeal with the needle wobbling after ...
