the whole system is turned off now apart from the immersion, if both water and heating are set to off then the boiler should no longer fire, correct? what sort of damage could arise please?

yes it has the 3 way motorised valve which is situated next to the cylinder. i thought that was what had happened but you just confirmed for me thanks very much.

hi, hopefully somebody can help me with this one? ive recently ripped my bathroom out and im currently replacing it, i drained the central heating system down to remove the rad, its a vented system using a conventional gas boiler, not a combi. ive not refilled the the system yet as i need to adjust ...

porcelain tiles

hi, im about to tile my bathroom with porcelain tiles on the walls and floor. do i need any special adhesives/grout for porcelain, also do they need sealing with something? regards trevor

tile the floor first, then fit toilet and pedestal on top, it'll look much neater and save a bucket load of fiddling about.

hi, in my porch i have a 2 way switch, 1 controls the inside light the other controls the outside light. i would like to change the outside to 1 with a pir, is this possible with the use of the affore mentioned switched or does it need a permanent live feed to it and use the pir as a switch? _______...

so in effect, to put my hot water onto constant would be cheaper than running the immersion and save all the medling with the system by changing or adding timers and such? thanks

hi all, if i set my timer for my hot water to constant will my boiler boil water continously or only when there is room in the cylinder to store it?

thanks ericmark, do you have any suggested makes and model numbers for a new timer/thermostat please? would be wired direct to the boiler or to the control boxes upstairs in the cupboard with the tank?

hi ericmark, the first fused switch is switched and the latter being the immersion is switched off at present. the timer has a seperate on/off?constant for heating and water. the reason i ask is because i would like hot water at times when i dont want heating, ie from 4pm so tha the water is hot for...
