Drain cleaner

I hope this post will be accepted as it doesn't fit the criteria. In the past I have used 'One Shot Drain Cleaner' but this no longer available to the general public it seems. In that case can anyone please recommend a suitable alternative that does what it says on the packet, so to speak!

Lagging a condensate pipe

Ridge tiles

Some of the mortar between each ridge tile on our gabled roof is missing. Viewed from the ground the tiles do not appear to be loosened & the loft appears watertight but I was wondering is this a job, re-mortaring between the tiles, that needs doing sooner than later please?

Best Product for Lubricating Locks on uPVC Doors

What would be the best lubricant for lock mechanism on uPVC doors please? The window company that supplied the doors suggest WD-40 or silicone spray but I read somewhere that use of WD-40 is not recommended & graphite powder is preferable.

Basket Strainer Waste Plug for Carron Phoenix Carisma Sink

Back in 2004 I had a new kitchen installed, the sink being a Carron Phoenix Carisma. The black plastic part of the plug/strainer has broken so I need a new one so the sink can hold water. I assumed the plug would be a Carron product but apparently not, it seems to be part of a Handifix Plumbing Kit ...

Replacing a Fence With a Brick Wall - Is Planning Permission Needed?

My neighbour & I wish to replace two 6' sq fence panels with a brick wall 6'H x 12' in length. This would be at the end of my driveway dividing our properties. Neither house is listed. Would we need planning permission please?

Thanks for the info. There was a fair amount of 'sludge' in the system before the powerflush. You may be intertested in the following article that appeared in a recent copy of the Daily Mail.

Powerflush - Would It Still Leave Deposits In Pipework?

Our central heating is serviced by British Gas & last year they recommended a powerflush that I did not take up with BG because of the charge they were quoting. I was recommended to Powerflush Ltd who provided a cheaper quotation that I agreed to & they carried out the work earlier this year...
