If you have no alternative location for a new condensing boiler you can still have a new conventional back boiler and fire installed. Your installer has to complete a simple points-scoring form to confirm the property is elligable. This information is then passed on to CORGI when the appliance is re...

There is no technical difference in either type of hose. The micropoint system has a much smaller bayonet connection and therfore allows the cooking appliance to be fitted much closer to the wall.

You can install an indirect unvented or vented hot water cylinder to the boiler heating circuit. It will mean quite a lot of plumbing work. Alpha Boilers manufacture a system that works with their boilers but I have never seen one installed so I cant comment on its suitability for your mum's install...

Sounds like diverter valve trouble. Could be blocked up with sludge or motor has packed up.

I am assuming you have a mid-position valve system because it sounds as if you have a doggy mid-position valve actuator. Most of these actuators can be changed without draining the system but others require a complete new valve.

You may want to check if you have a shower mixer that has tank fed hot water and mains fed cold water. Quite often if no non-return valve is fitted to the hot water side mains water can seep through to the hot water cylinder and fill the system up to overflow level. To check this leave the mains col...

Buy the box and all the fitting instructions will be in it. The hole you cut must be a perfct fit. You cant use any fixings to secure the box - it is held in place with mastic sealant. You cant run the gas pipe in the cavity, there are a lot of regulations to adhere to when runing gas pipe work. I s...

You have been sold a pup. Chrome towel warmer prices vary considerably and for a very good reason - QUALITY. My towel warmer is next to my shower cubicle and is four years old. It is made by Delonghi and is in perfect condition - it was pricy though - £245.

This boiler can be very toublesome especially if the heat exchnager is not cleaned regularly. However as you have had several engineers look at the problem I would suggest you replace the ignition unit. In my experience this component starts to produce a weak spark after a few years which can lead t...

Remove themostat head (should only be hand tight) and check the valve pin is free to move in and out - dont pull it, push it. If this does not work try turning down the lock shield valves on the other rads just a little at a time an see what happens. Good luck - one-pipe systems suck!

Go for the Icos - it is a well proven modern boiler and the Classic is just an upgraded 'D' rated model.
