Creating a new Internal Doorway In Non-Load Bearing Upstairs Brick Wall

This is non load bearing upstairs brick wall. What is the best way of cutting a new door way. It will not have a door but will be finished and skimmed

Advice on Blocking up Upstairs Doorway in Brick Wall

Just need to check, I have removed the wooden frame, the wall is brick construction, so I should use light breeze block? Metal ties to bond to wall. Do I need to lay anything on floorboards or place mortar straight on before starting the block work?
