Thanks for the reply plumbob.

The system has managed without any problems in the past. The pump appears to be o.k. How do I check if it's running correctly?

I have no idea what the bypass is, what zone valves are or if the coil is being bypassed.

Radiators take an age to warm up.

I am having a couple of problems with my radiators. The first is that when I have the boiler set to hot water only, the rads come on too. The second and most frustrating, is the time it takes for the radiators to actually heat up. On a good day it can take 1 1/2 hours. When I say heat up, I mean ful...

I can see some people are taking a look at my post but nobody has an answer for me. So I'll try a different route to solving it. I'm assuming it is the brushes and I'll have a go at replacing them myself. Looking at where they are housed, it seems impossible to remove them. The block that houses the...

Seimens washing machine problems-please help!

I have a Seimens WXLM 1260 GB washing machine which has started to act up. As I rarely go anywhere near the thing, some of what I am going to explain is 2nd hand information but I am confident I have all the relevent details. The machine started making a whining noise at the end of the final spin cy...

[quote="MB"]Hi Rayo , it sounds like your rad's may need balancing. If you turn all the valves on all the rads off then turn them all back on opening them all the same amount Ie half a turn on each valve then this may balance the rads for you. As far as the rads coming on when just hw is s...

Cental heating/hot water problems.

Hi all. I've scoured the current threads to see if there is a comparible problem to mine , but to no avail. I have 4 radiators upstairs and 3 downstairs. The end of the run being in the kitchen. The kitchen radiator was the first to have a problem. It doesn't get anywhere near as hot as the others a...

In the dark with light fittings !

Hopefully there is an electricity boffin out there who can help with what to you might seem as an easy problem to solve. Unfortunately it's got me baffled. I recently tried replacing 2 wall lights and a ceiling light. When I removed the old ceiling light I thought I had grouped the wires together in...
