Dripping from the overflow during hot water heating

I woke this morning to hear a persistent drip from the boiler cupboard. The central heating and hot water heating was both on. The drip was coming from the overflow marked by the red circle in the attached photo. The dripping stopped when I drew some water from the hot water tap in the bathroom. I a...

Re: Cooker tripping electric

Replacement arrived today and having fitted, normal service is resumed.

Had a real good look over the whole element and couldn't see any physical issues. maybe it was the damp thing maybe it was something else. Either way it's all sorted. thanks for your support.

Cooker tripping electric

I have a dual oven/grill combo. The top oven and grill work fine, however the bottom oven trips the household electric every time I turn it on. I've removed the bottom oven heating element. Subsequently turning on the bottom oven causes the oven light to illuminate, control panel to operate as expec...

Leaking End Cap Bleed valve

I think I've tracked a leaking heating system down to an end cap air vent. It's not been coming out at a fast rate so mostly evaporating as it runs down the hot pipes. I've tightened but this doesn't seemed to have halted the continued loss of pressure. I caught it the other day with a bead of water...

Re: Prefab Chimney Not Leaking yet but......

Thanks for the response, chimney is three floors up and ladder access is impractical due to a lower level extension. There does appear to be lead flashing and property is only 10 years old. If it needs repair then it'll be done on the insurance so no need to go cheap. My question really was do peopl...

Prefab Chimney Not Leaking yet but......

I live on a estate that was built about 10 years ago, along our terrace many of my neighbours have had roof issues with quite a few identifying the fake chimneys as a poorly designed or constructed aspect. Spotted another neighbour had scaffolding up last week. My NHBC insurance will lapse next Wedn...

Re: Repairing a Bosch GWS 8-115 Angle Grinder

I know it's kinda bad form to answer your own questions but I figured I do it anyway as I managed to solve my problem thanks to some Russians! I wasn't getting very far with the exploded diagram as the outputs on the filter didn't really correlate with the layout in the diagram. Whist searching for ...

Repairing a Bosch GWS 8-115 Angle Grinder

My Angle Grinder stopped working some time back and after popping off the case I quickly diagnosed the fault, the Suppression filter had visibly failed. Without a Job that required it I never got round to fixing. However the time has come to use again and I've bought a replacement part but have lost...
