Fitting ceramic tiles with kitchen units/appliances in place

With kitchen units and appliances in place do I remove plinths and fit tiles underneath then replace plinths over tiles (probably reducing the height of the plinth as well) or do I fit tiles up to plinths and appliances. Or is there another way to do it?

wallpapering a window recess

Where do I start when trying to wallpaper a window recess it seems that cutting into a full length to fold into the recess will leave gaps at the top of the recess. Do I fit the two window end pieces and fill in the middle. What if the gap above and below is a diffent size?
