Re: Belling 100DF Countrychef Double Oven not Working

I'm sure you've checked this but its not the timer switch is it?
Sometimes if kids play with the buttons it can happen. Happened to me before.
You can normally reset them by pushing two of the buttons at the same time. I'm sure you've checked it but just in case. If not I cant help sorry

Re: Lining Up Drilling Holes In Wall For Heavy Duty Shelving Brackets

Place one bracket first. Offer it up and mark the wall. Drill the first hole dead centre with the smallest masonry bit you have working up to 10mm over 3 or 4 bits slow and steady wins the race. A second pair of hands will certainly help but isn't needed. Once you have one bracket up place the next ...

You cant put a price on piece of mind and if you're that worried get a handy person in. If you do want to take it on there is a few things to think about. How thick is the solid back and what material is it made of. Thicker the better You have the best fixing possible in brick/concrete so you're ont...

Re: What Fixings Should I use for a Very Large Mirror onto a Brick Wall?

Raw plugs and screws. They have weight ratings on them. A tip would be drill the hole .5 smaller than the packaging suggests but always start very small. To drill one hole I'll use 3 drill bits smallest working up to the required size(or .5 smaller). If you try to start with your final size you'll f...

Re: Fixing Blind into Plasterboard but it Won't Stay

Yeah Tim is right. Its because of dynamic load when you're operating the blinds. The other problem you may now face is you've Swiss cheesed the plasterboard weakening it. Chances are you'll want the fixings in the same place as the ones that have pulled out. Use the fixing Tim suggests and you shoul...

Re: Fixing 50" TV to Plasterboard Wall Safely

225 KG...!
That's 35 stone. If you can lift the TV you'll be more than covered.
One would do it although I wouldn't recommend that. It'll be fine even if its on a movable bracket unless you're hanging a LED video wall
Go for it

Re: Hanging a Very Heavy Oak Mirror on Plasterboard Wall

First weigh the mirror. Weigh yourself then weigh yourself holding the mirror and then subtract your weight. The plasterboard fixings are very strong and will say what weight they can hold on the packet. I use them to hang heavy stuff all the time. A mirror is great as the load is pulling straight d...

Re: Projector Installation Advise and What Best Screws are to Attach Shelf to Wall

It will depend on what the walls is made of. If its brick you'll need raw plugs that are rated to the weight of the projector plus the weight of the shelf and anything else you wish to put on that shelf, I'd also add a contingency. Try to place the load on the shelf as near to the wall as possible t...
