Re: Saniflo stopped working - help

I ended up buying a new model, the Sanipro Up 6006. Installation was more straightforward than I expected but the output pipe on the UP narrows down to much smaller than the current pipe I have installed. Luckily the existing pipe went directly into the new unit without using the the supplied piping...

Saniflo stopped working - help

I have a Sanipro XR in my loft where my son lives. It's connected to a toilet, sink and shower. The machine has stopped working (it makes an attempt to empty but then goes quiet). Meanwhile the shower is filling with waste water from the loo. The sink is also full of water. I've opened the machine u...

Re: Finding cartridge for a Blanco tap ...

Hi mbk You need to remove the cartridge and see if you can find a replacement on line. Your search will bring up a number of suppliers who sell a range of different cartridges - make sure you measure careful. Regards S The problem is to remove the cartridge I need to turn the water off for the hous...

Finding cartridge for a Blanco tap ...

The tap in my kitchen is 15 years old and needs a new cartridge. Unfortunately Blanco don't seem to stock cartridges for older taps (brilliant!). They said all taps apparently have different cartridges so I can't just use an alternative (insane!). Do all tap supplies do this? Is there anything I can...

Dimmer Transformers Slowly Dying Across House

Our house is full of dimmer switches that are all steadily dying. I'm fairly certain it's the transformers that are going as we've replaced a few easy to get to ones and that fixed the issue. The ones that are left are now much more difficult to get to. Is there an easy way of replacing the transfor...

Replacing Broken Side bed Rail

The rail on my bed that runs along the side of the bed between the two upright posts has broken. It turned out to be made of MDF surrounded by oak veneer but I quite like the bed and wondered whether I could replace the broken piece. The upright has two large bolts coming out which fit through two h...

Re: Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

Sorry for not replying. Was hoping for a simple solution but my son needed a light so I ended up paying someone to fiddle with the wiring. Thanks for your help.

Re: Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

I've attached a picture of the wiring to the other light switch. It's quite difficult to get too so this is probably the best image I can get. Hope it helps.

Re: Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

I'll have my next attempt tomorrow morning when it's light. I'll have a go at seeing what the connections are to the ceiling switch but it's at the back of a top cupboard and I'm not sure I'll fit.

Would it help clear up things if I used the multimeter on the various wires?

Re: Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

OK swapped L2 and C over but still no lights. On the plus side I haven't blown all the fuses yet or electrocuted myself!

I was curious about the other switch you mentioned and did eventually find a pull cord hidden at the back of a fitted wardrobe.

Any idea what should I try next?

Re: Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

There's only one switch in the room and two little halogen bulbs in the ceiling. Am I still OK to swap the wires over?

Thanks for replying by the way!

Converting Dimmer to Standard Switch Problem

I thought the two bulbs had gone in my son's bedroom so swapped one bulb and tried again. After fiddling with the dimmer for a while the bulb I hadn't swapped flickered on then went out. I figured it must be the dimmer switch itself. I don't particularly like the dimmers in my house and my teenage s...
