Re: Fix sleepers to ground

Hopefully you have finished the job by now but I built a tiered veg garden this year using 36 sleepers. I used 12mm re-bar to pin the sleepers to the ground. I used a long 12mm wood drill to drill through the sleepers first then cut the re-bar into lengths 18 inches longer than the height of the sle...

P-Shaped Conservatory Roof Woes

We have a P shaped conservatory on our house that was originally a 3 bell shape but was extended 5 years ago to a P shape. Last year we had a new end frame with double doors fitted in place of the old set that were not locking correctly. Last week a glass roof panel dropped out of its frame on one s...

Re: Cracked Grouting Issue in Newly Fitted Bathroom

Is the floor a suspended one if on the ground floor? It sounds like the floor is moving too much for the flexible grout to cope with. It might be that the only real solution is to lift the tiles and put a good thick ply floor on top of the current wooden flooring. If that is too much you could alway...

Re: Plumbing a Radiator and Identifying Feed and Return Pipes

It doesn’t matter which is the Heating Flow and Heating return at a radiator as the water will flow through the radiator anyway it can.

Re: Solar Thermal Panels but are Evacuated Tubes or Panels Best?

Did you get a system yet? We recently had panels fitted to our roof and opted for an I. Erosion switch as part of the package. By having the switch power is diverted to heat water when there is spare/available solar power. So far in the first 2 weeks we have been watching it closely and all seems to...

New LED Lights Residual Current and Still Glowing After Turned off?

I fitted new lights to both downstairs and upstairs last Tue. The downstairs light is fine, but the upstairs lights glow at night when switched off. We have a 3 way switch downstairs and a single switch upstairs. As luck would have it we had solar panels fitted last Wed and one of the team was an el...
