Re: EICR - Shallow Box Depth Question

It sounds like a pointless exercise if they can just decide what they check and what is a problem. Surely there is a structure and guidance to it?

EICR - Shallow Box Depth Question

Hello, My house has 25mm back boxes throughout, but I’ve noticed the previous owner has installed sockets and switches that seem to suggest/specify 35mm minimum. The sockets and switches do still fit flush on the wall, just that it is incredibly tight behind so the wiring has been routed meticulousl...

Custom Flush Pipe High Level Cistern

Hello, I’m trying to replace an antique high level cistern with a more modern ceramic one. The flush pipe is routed in a very specific way so the new one will probably need to be bespoke. Does anyone have any experience, or at least seen, bespoke flush pipes? I was hoping they could be made from sta...

Re: Crumbling Brick Behind Fireplace After Removing

Are you planning on having a live fire in there? I think if so you had best either render the bricks with a solid ratio of cement or install acros and rebrick. Let me know about the live flame. Do you have photos? https://imgshare.io/images/2019/07/08/848E150B-9F5F-452B-BA79-82FD6034C892.th.jpg htt...

Crumbling Brick Behind Fireplace After Removing

Hello. I had the fireplace removed in my house but the back wall bricks are in bad condition. The surface is crumbly around the area behind the opening, but seem to be ok higher up. Although the quick job would be just to cover it I want to ensure the structure is still strong it may make sense to r...

Nest Heat Link in Bathroom Near Boiler?

Hello. Currently my thermostat is on the wall just before you enter the bathroom. My boiler is in the bathroom. My plan was to put the heat link inside the bathroom and the nest screen in my bedroom. I’ve had someone told me I can’t put the heatlink in the bathroom near the boiler due to regulations...
