I've just done this for a chap, 40w tubular heater, and an inline frost stat which is just like your general house CH stat but temp range is between 5 degrees and minus 10
that way you never need to remember to turn it on, or check weather etc.
total supply price 40 quid!

leave it well alone and get it replaced by your plumber, if you force them when seized nearly always shears handle off and worse case senario it winds shut and thread snaps leaving it in shut position, wheel valves do this every time after some years, a new 15mm stop tap valve is only a fiver!! ya n...

ye i would definetly run a feed and return system, you can then bring system up to regs and have thermastatic valves on all rads, i.e. have a more efficient running boiler, also put in a room stat.

sounds like you have a restriction/blockage in your soil stack, if you check outside on the soil stack i think you'll find the bath is on a different boss on the stack or on otherside of a "Y" piece so it is flowing well, your blockage is above that, if modernish house should be a screw of...

if you have a gravity system and your header tank isnt so high you may get a restriction of flow, if combi or unvented should be fine.

this is an unvented hot water cylinder, which in laymans terms means you have mains pressure hot water, you cannot add a pump to this system, you just need a shower mixer for a high pressure system, go to your local plumbers merchants and tell them you want a good quality shower mixer thats compatib...

As eric says electric under floor heating will not heat the room as a primary source, i fit this regularly, in such a small space it is just a luxury item to take the chill out of the tiles, so your feet feel nice, you can either lay it on ply, minimum 12mm screwed every 4inches or on the insulation...

ye but you need to file the chrome plating off the pipe first otherwise the joints wont take, same if you use pushfit, only way round it is compression

i always keep a box of screws for just this fault, you need size 6 x 30mm from your local ironmongers they simply selftap the cross threaded hole and the screwhead is exactly the same so looks crackin!
