How to Best Fix new Skirting to Wall

I removed the skirting in a 1930s house and the bottom of the wall is quite uneven to say the least. I need to put new skirting on but am unsure as to the best way to attach it to the wall as nails or screws would probably crack the existing plaster in its fragile state. Any advice gratefully accept...

Re: Heating Noise When Switching Heating System on

Hi All,
Got the boiler serviced by engineer.

Found out that the baffleshad burnt away due to too high a heat setting when the boiler was installed.

I had it checked and serviced before but obviously it was not done properly.

Got new baffles and installed them myself and problem solved.

Heating Noise When Switching Heating System on

Hi,
I am concerned about a noise I hear in my house after the heating has been on.

It sounds like a clap of thunder and the whole house shakes.

Should I be really concerned?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
