When you buy the mcb's that adapt to that old wylex board in screwfix they usually come with the carrier to fit this board when ordering ask the person you are ordering it with o double check in the catalogue

It sounds to me like you still have a wylex mains board with rewireable fuses .I would recommend you badger your landlord to get an electrician round as this does not comply with bs7671,16th or 17th edition wiring regs.In the least get your landlord to have a periodic test and inspection on the prop...

If the cable is being extended and you can put the existing cable under the floor then get a 4terminal 20 amp junction box and connect the wire into this and put the junction boxin the floor if this is upstairs.

First of all get in a part p registered electrician and have him do a full periodic inspection and test and then go from there. It sounds a little dodgy to me your wiring so get it checked out ASAP.

For the spa bath you could get an rcd point and put out on the landing it would look similar to a single socket but as to the timer put it in the adjoining toilet or perhaps in the airing cupboard on the landing if there is one

Yes turn off cold water stop tap and then open hot tap on both basin and sink also tie up ball valve on header tank to stop header tank filling main tank back up. then you can take out immersion heater coil. when doing this dont forget to isolate electric supply for immersion heater regards Topspark

Sounds to me in your description you have lost a live and neutral feed to the rest of your upstairs lights. the only suggestion i can give is go in the loft and take a cable from the light that is working to another of the lights on the circuit then connect these up and put lighting circuit back on ...

It sounds like you have cartridge fuses in your mains board,As you have no means of testing the continuity of the fuses i would suggest you goto an electrical wholessalers with cartridge and they will supply you with the correct rated fuse. regards Topspark

Best advice I can give you on this matter is call in aregistered electrician and have him do a periodic inspection and tes on all the circuits and hopefully he will find the fault and be able to repair it with little fuss regards Topspark
