loud noises

someone i know, they have a back boiler. But when they run the hot tap there is a loud noise coming from some of the pipes under the shower (near the bath). The bathroom floor also vibrates. Whether its the bath, basin and downstaris sink tap, the noise will persist, and a little while shortly after...

when you are fitted a combi boiler from a back boiler or conventional, the installer will install so you have your central heating and hot water. there will also be a cold supply, but usually in this form.... left to right... far left pipe is the flow (CH), then hot water outlet, Gas, Cold water inl...

I had to do this a couple of months ago, i just untightened the valves from the pipes and took off the rad with the valves still on. And put compression caps on, whilst using the same olive ad nut. This is more work but i dint want to break the seal between the valve and the rad bcos it was so old.

pipes not being clipped correctly maybe? But turning down the stoptap may reduce the pressure, which may work due to problem being too much pressure?

i suppose you could but in my opinin, you wouldnt get very good performance from them bcos ther'll b two rads running from same pipework. It would b farely easy jst to extend the pipework.

ano this sounds funny....but am not trying to be but jst buy a new seat, you may spend more time looking for a replacement and the use of your time etc wouldnt be worth it..?

if the trap is fitted correctly then there should be any smells at all. The trap maybe losing it's seal due to certain aspects. try and fill your shower tray and then release. The seal mayb either 25 mm or 75 mm, if its connected to the soil pipe which u say it isnt, then it wont need to be 75. Howe...

yes definetely lag ur pipework. The regs state that it must be 1m away from the cylinder, however as long as its more than that then its ok so lag all pipes within the cupboard.

aslong as 1 radiator is on then it shudnt matta. If the water within ur system can create and loop (flow to return) then ther is a route for the floe of water and once it reaches it correct temp it will be shut off...

hi there, am not an expert about this topic. But maybe it could be gradients on your pipework that is the problem, it may rise upwards then down and create an air lock. however if you got a qualified plumber out then he would have noticed. just a thought...

if u drain the system sumhow then get mayb a set of electrician plier that mayb small enuf for the space. Merchants may sell back up bleeder nipples if u need replacements.

Obv i'm someone with not as much knowledge as you guys but could you please tell me how this system could a full gravity system i it contains a y-plan and mid position valve. Surely that would make it fully pumped?

nar try tightening nut and if it makes it worse, turn lecky off, drain system, and replace valve.
remember to PTFE is atleast 15-20 times lol
