"keep quiet?!" What kind of advice is that? Yes it is foul waste and SHOULD NOT be going into a soak-away! Soak-aways are only intended for rainwater. If you are discharging foul waste into it you are asking for trouble as it will continually block once enough gunk has filled it up again! ...

Never buy a bed from ebay. Get one from a shop that u can test first.
(BTW not all beds are made the same, there are loads of different designs).
You've just got a cheap nasty one that's all.

obviously if it was fine before they touched it then they haven't put it back properly! Just sounds like something has not been tightened correctly or maybe they have damaged it somewhere. As for cleaning the filters - that has nothing to do with it leaking. You will just get less power (and water) ...

Mr Makeshift, Humidistat controlled fans will normally run for some time when powered up irrespective of humidity levels. end Thanks (sort of). This doesn't really answer my question though. I know that they also have timers that will run on once the light is off. What I wanted to know was, is ther...

Pretty much agree with Andy. Flats don't normally share the same small bore pipe work (I've not seen any that do!) but they do normally connect into the same communal stack. There must be a problem with this somewhere down the line and your getting a surge back from one of your neighbours whenever t...

Check the fall of the outlet pipe (if u can see it). Maybe your new toilet is slightly lower and decreased or even reversed the angle of fall. Modern toilets also flush less water than older ones therefore you may find yourself having to flush twice as they don't shift "stuff" as well as y...

Humidistat bathroom fan question

I have just installed (rather replaced as the old one was burnt out) a bathroom extractor with humidistat. This is wired to the light switch and now comes on every time I turn the light on. My question is, is this supposed to happen as what I wanted was for the fan only to operate when there is high...

Why do u want to remove the cast pipe? If there is nothing wrong with it then leave it, if it has perished then of course get rid. You can still replace it with a new cast iron pipe, but this is a lot more expensive than plastic and in reality virtually no-one does this as plastic is cheap, readily ...

The roots will of course first have to be removed until they are not causing any obstruction to the drain. This can either be done with a mechanical auger type of device or by high pressure water jetting, or a combination of the two. Providing the structure of the drain is still in tact and there ar...
