The valves are too cheap.

I don’t use the cheap ball cock valves anymore, people like quite systems.

Pop down to a plumber’s merchant and ask them for a new one and pop it on.

I don’t think it’s worth fixing. Most boilers run for years without any problems, there reliable and do there job. They’re something wrong with design of this boiler, there seem to be a few people with the same fault. Most of the posts I have read on these boilers go back to 2003. I don’t kn...

I think the filling system on the toilet is scaled up.

There are things you can do to like taking off the valve and giving it a good clean, but there so cheap, you are better off buying a new one.

For now turn it off at the isolator and pop down to a diy shop and buy a new one.

There about £5-20 depending on what you buy and simple to fit.

I did have a fact sheet on noching out for my trainee, but I can find it, its here somewhere. But I would say you could buy clips with metal top on them that are designed for this purposes. Basics are simple, try and keep the pipe run in the middle of the joisted. Only go has deep has you have to. R...

A tap is a tap.

They’re no reason why you can’t have an outside hot water tap.

But I do think you’re the first person in 20 years to ask me about it.

The float has jammed

Or is set to the wrong height

Lift off the lid on your toilet and adjust the float height until the water stops running.

I did cover this on another post on the plumbing broads last week

But basically you can put a new soil stack at the front of the house; this would be the best thing to do.

Or

Put in a macerators and get a “time saverâ€

This is all about sunlight. Has we all know plastics are corroded by sunlight. The above ground plastic soil pipe has stuff to reduce the affects of sunlight damage. The below ground soil pipe has stuff to reduce the affects of ground damage from acid soil, so I am told. But if you ask me about what...

I think it could be the sound of the tank filling in your loft. When you turn on the basin taps, the demand for water is less than for your bath, so the tank would not fill has fast and there would be not the noise. When you turn on the bath taps the demand would be higher and the tank would fill fa...

We use a tile drill bit for these, its much safer to use than a masonry bit. Just get one the right size to start with and don’t hit the centre punch too hard. Like most kitchen sinks, you need to cut a hole for them, we use sealant to hold them in place. You first use your sealant on the undersid...

I would check the pressure in the expansion vessel with a tyre pressure tester. It may need recharging and service the heat exchanger

But you need a good corgi-heating engineer to have a look at it.
