Re: Replacement for a very old mixer shower

Thanks stoneyboy.
2 problems - the dials are binding against each other and the flow is becoming a trickle. I suspect that it is beyond repair.

Replacement for a very old mixer shower

The bathroom wall that the existing Mira 8 shower is fitted into backs on the the wall of the airing cupboard down which the main pipes run so I suspect that it will be a straightforward job for a plumber to fit a replacement. (Mira no longer stock spare parts for it) My query is for help to identif...

Lightweight safety gloves

I'm looking for a safety glove that protects against seriously sharp objects but still allows a good level of dexterity with the fingers.

Lightweight chain mail would be perfect!

Looking for dark brown 1.5 basin granite kitchen sink

Our current sink is many years old and looks it. It's a standard 1000x500 size.

Looking at many suppliers websites I get the impression that it a far from popular colour. Does anyone know where I can get one - preferably not too expensive.

Help with quantities

Making a base for a 7' x 5' shed. Limited DIY skills so have looked at instructions on websites and Youtube. They all start by cutting the base in a lawn! Mine is in a sloping border in the corner of the garden but have sussed that. Once the soil is level and compacted I will use a 2" deep dry ...

Threads on rods

I have 2 sets of drain/chimney rods, ages around 40 and 80 years (I bought one set then inherited dad's). I discovered when trying to extend one set that they have slightly different threads. Trying to clear a blockage recently the "corkscrew" attachment came off. A Home Serve plumber jett...

Using a laser measure

Measuring for a patio my extra long tape has jammed when rewinding. Can't be bothered to try to sort it as it's a good reason to get a modern laser one. However all the illustrations in the adverts show them being used on solid objects and I wonder if they can be used to measure various points at gr...

Re: Fitting Replacement Danfoss FP715si Programmer

Many thanks for a helpful reply.
Before calling a plumber I'd like to try tapping the valve - I presume it is part of the collection of pipes and controls around the hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard. How do I recognise it?

Fitting Replacement Danfoss FP715si Programmer

Discovered during the night that the central heating was still on despite the programmer indicator light being off. Turned the thermostat right down but heating stayed on. Time for a new programmer. Relieved to see that this programmer is still available but thanks to coronavirus getting a tradesman...

Led Bulbs, do the Ones I Want Exist?

Current setup is a 3 arm hanging light with 60 watt opal B22 incandescent bulbs and 2 2arm wall lights with 40 watt opal B15 bulbs. One dimmer switch for the wall lights, another for the ceiling one. I'm trying to find LED replacements. but increasing the ceiling bulbs to 100watt as my wife has deve...
