Re: Boiler keeps cutting out and no heating or hot water.

If they(Engineers?) say your system is sludged up, then you have a circulation problem with your boiler & the only way to cure this is to clean your system. Now, this may not mean an expensive Power Flush, there's many videos on Youtube showing you how to flush your system with mains water. In f...

Re: Propane boiler in loft ?????

Chris, why are you heating your home with LPG?? There's much cheaper fuels for home heating. For example you could fit an oil boiler & have a couple of gas cylinders for cooking. That would be much cheaper. If you're home is well insulated, you could fit a geothermal heat pump - you can afford i...

Re: buying in italy

Buying materials in these or any other EU country is a matter of picking it & pay for it. However, while it may be cheaper to do this, what happens if you have problems or you want to return something??!! While you may have recourse with faulty goods, it's a major hassle if an item of sanitarywa...

Re: Rayburn Royal heating a primatic cylinder

A Rayburn Royal should never be connected to a Primatic cylinder, only a twin feed indirect cylinder.
You have answered your own question, the fault is the cylinder, the pipe size & there's every chance the gradients are also wrong.

Re: Hot water pressure

@ trevors50uk If the water pressure and flow is ok to start with from the mixer, but a flow problem develops only as the water temperature increases, then change the mixer. There isn't any kind of blockage in the pipework, otherwise it would present itself as soon as you open the tap and there's no...

Re: Blistering shower tray

I've seen this happen on RB shower trays with water getting under the top skin or if there was air pockets when the tray was manufactured. Sorry, but replacement is the only answer.

Re: Cold mains supply to a mixer power shower??

You could use an equalizer for this, but as said it's not wise to supply a shower valve with unbalanced pressures or flow rates.

Re: Baxi solo 3 pfl 40

A bit drastic changing a PCB for a problem like that!!! OK, what about the boiler thermostat/thermistor has that been checked?? Has the system circulation been checked, is there enough flow through the boiler? Is there a circulation pump gate valve partly closed? Sorry, it's not a boiler I have a gr...

Re: Boiler trigger is 12V, but UFH outputs 230V

Is this the same thread as below??

In most cases the micro switch on the zone valve is used to control the boiler, as in an 'S' plan. The low voltage/no voltage supply from the boiler is switched that way when the UFH is calling for heat.

Re: combi boilers and wood stove back boilers compatibility

This can be done with a Thermalstore or Heatbank, both of which are not popular in the trade as they tend to sludge up over time. But with either you can link anything in to it via coils. Lots of people use their combi for their kitchen hot water & a cylinder/thermalstore/heatbank for the rest o...

A lot of times mate it's done with a relay or the micro switch on a zone(two port valve). Fairly simple to do for a good Spark. There's no reason why you can't control either on their own, I'd say your Spark was a bit lost, so try another one.
