Plastic is ok for soil stacks for flats.

We have done a few of them on new builds in the last six months and most where over 5 floors.

The adaptors you are looking for are made from rubber; they look like “plugsâ€

Depends on how old it is.

The spares diagram for the Triton T80i shows a cartridge/flag assembly, but it’s telling me “item obsoleteâ€

The point of power flushing is to clean out the system without removing the radiators. Power flushing is done at a much higher pressure to get in all the nooks and crannies of the system. But you don’t need to use power flushing on just pipe work. If you have removed the radiators, you can just cl...

I think you’re on a loser here. If you run a hot water pipe up and thru your loft space and then down again, I am sure will not have any water pressure. There gravity feed and I am sure running the water pipe up is a bad idea. You need to run the pipes under the floors, there no other way. It does...

I do understand what your trying to do, but I feel that you are wasting your time.

Oil is on the way out and I would suggest that you look at “Ground source heating systemsâ€

I think this is coincidence. The tap failing at the same time has the air lock is just bad luck. The only way to find out if it’s the tap or the water pressure is to remove the tap and put a pressure gauge on the pipe work. Hot water pressure is always low, normally about ½ bar. I would turn off ...

Just a reminder about the new WRAS program in Jan

Yes another card you need to carry. From Jan 08 anyone working with mains water needs to pass the test and carry the card. I know it’s a waste of time, but we all know what a hard time plumbers have been getting in press for the last 10 years and this could help boost public confidents. There are ...

My co-worker with a bacon roll in his hand has just reminded me how we did this.

We didn’t do the whole floor; we just put in a plinth under the bath.

It was about 8 inches high and was tiled.

There a simple answer to this one, its no. If you put meshes in a drain it’s going to act has a filter and block. There would be not way of removing the blockage with out digging up the section. I do remember seeing an iron flap in a manhole some years ago on a farm, it was on outlet of the pipe g...

I think this can’t be done.

I can’t think of away to remove water from the tap tails without turning the taps on.

I would say this is an insulation problem, not a plumbing one.

You mite be able to get a new cartage for it, but without seeing, I would say you need a new one.

You can’t drain down one radiator with out pipe freezing.

Its better to drain down all of them, do the work and refill the system.

If you have no radiators why are you power flushing? I hope you have cap them all off?

I can’t see what you hope to archive with power flushing.
