Re: Fixing Kitchen Units to Walls After Boarding and Plastering

Hi You can indeed use moisture resistant plywood but we would also suggest that you treat everything with the following product: m - You will need to keep windows and doors open as this is some pokey stuff!! Other than that, the next thing to look at is really using plastic boards etc…. Hope this he...

Re: Mitre Saw for Cutting Bricks With a Diamond Blade

Hi You will need to use a 9 inch (230mm) angle grinder with your diamond blade, such as these ones here: m The best way to go is construct a jig for your grinder from timber and set it at the exact angle you need. You can buy angle grinder stands but I’m not sure they do stands for mitreing, althoug...

Re: Cannot Remove Gas Cylinder or Turn Gas on or off on Patio Heater?

Hi

As you rightly point out, this needs to be done safely so cutting anything is really a “no-go”. As we have not encountered this issue before we cannot advise safely.

In light of this it might be worth a call to GasSafe for further advice: http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk .

Hope this helps

Re: Wallpaper Panels on Mirrored Wardrobe Door With Wallpaper Paste?

Hi Unfortunately we have never tried this before and in light of this do not know. Your best bet is to cut a very small section of wallpaper and give it a go to see if it does stick and then you will know. In terms of sealing, again we are not too sure. You could try most types of clear varnish or p...

Re: Planning Application Refused due to Size of Proposed Outbuilding

Hi Unfortunately this is a little out of our remit in terms of advice as there are so many factors that can affect planning applications - Your best bet is to book a meeting with your local planning officer where you can both sit down and thrash it out in terms of getting the the application approve...

Re: Certificate of Lawfulness and Siting of a Static Caravan

Hi This is a little tricky to define and can depend upon a number of things and the reason why the certificate was granted e.g. construction of property, redevelopment of existing property, length of time the caravan has been there etc…. There can also be time limits on the validity of the certifica...

Re: Mira Sprint Shower Comes on and Then Switches off Minutes Later?

Hi It sounds like there is a definite fault here. As this is an electric shower and water is obviously present I would say not to use it at all until you have had it checked out by an electrician (you can find one via our Find a Tradesman service here: m) Additionally, it may be worth a call to Mira...

Re: Looking for Small Efficient Lawnmower - Ideas Welcome

Hi It really depends on the amount of grass you need to mow. If you only have a small amount to do then maybe you would be best off with an electric mower, such as this one here: m If you have a fair size lawn that involves quite a bit of mowing then you would certainly be better off with a petrol m...

Re: Where to Source Pipework for DIY Furniture?

Hi

This looks very much like old cast iron pipework and is quite old. Due to this your best bet would be reclamation yards or possibly even scrap yards.

Hope this helps

Hi
